In 1776 Abigail Adams made the statement "Remeber the ladies" while writing a letter to her husband John Adams. Almost 150 years later in the year 1920 women voted for the first time. There were many important women and events throught that 150 years, known as the womens sufferage movement. Suffrage is defined by the American Heritage Dictionary as "1. A vote. 2. The right or privledge of voting" These women struggled, persevered ,fought for and won the right and privledge to vote.
